Day 3 Cold Ash – Long Distance Race

About 5 miles north east of Newbury, close to Junction 13 of the M4 and adjacent to the villages of Hermitage, Cold Ash and Bucklebury in a quiet rural area of Berkshire countryside. The area comprises of undulating slopes containing a mixture of deciduous and coniferous woodland which offer fast running. The area has many smaller features with some more complex contoured areas containing vague natural regenerated vegetation. The area was last used for a major event for the Southern Championship in 2006; there is some newly mapped terrain which all courses will pass through.
This race has been awarded IOF World Ranking Event status.
The following classes will be available:
- M/W10 to M/W16 A and B classes,
- M/W18, 20 and 21 Elite, Long and Short,
- M/W21 Very short,
- M/W35 to M75 and W70 classes, Long and Short,
- M80/85 and W75/80/85, Long only.
All the above are by pre-entry only.
- White, Yellow, Orange, Light Green courses, can be entered on the day.
- Free String course, can be entered on the day.

Map scale will be 1:10,000 and 1:15,000, with 5m contours.
Target winning times for Elite courses are in the middle of the IOF specified range.
Start times will be from 1000 until 1400. Do remember that clocks go forward one hour at 2am on Sunday morning. Make sure you are not late for your start time; your start time will not be adjusted if you are late for your start.
Dogs are allowed at the event. However they must remain on a lead at all times and are restricted to parking and assembly areas and routes to/from these. In particular please note that there is likely to be stock - cows and their calves - in the field next to the Assembly field; it is essential that dogs are kept under control and away from them.
