Day 4 - Relay (Stanton Moor)

Location:

Lees Rd, Stanton Lees, Matlock DE4 2LQ.

Terrain:

The area is divided diagonally in two, offering very different styles of orienteering. In the north-west intricate wooded former quarries will prove a technical challenge. From the 16th century and possibly since Roman times, gritstone has been quarried from the moor for use in building and as mill stones.  In the south-east, exposed heather moorland scattered with Bronze Age features, and some tracks will make for interesting route choice.
