Day 1 - Sprint (Loughborough University)

Terrain:

The Loughborough University campus is over 400 acres and is predominately a complex mix of residential, academic and sports buildings but does also include some woodland areas. The central campus is on the side of a ridge providing some contour detail and there are expanses of grass in various parts of the campus.

Classes:

The usual sprint classes. 

Clothing:

Shorts and running vests are permitted for this race. There are some grassy slopes; shoes with some form of stud are recommended if the ground is wet. Shoes with metal dobs or spikes must not be used.

Trail-O:

There will be PreO in urban terrain. Course length, subject to final checking, will be 1.5km with a timed AZ section for tie break. The start will be adjacent to assembly. An application for the course to be part of the British TrailO League has been made (BriTOL). The course planner is Peter Hornsby and course checker is Iain Phillips (both of LEI).

Dogs:

Dogs will be permitted on campus in vehicles and close to vehicles in car parks.  Assistance dogs allowed anywhere.
